Tom Friedman is a well known conceptual artist. What this means is he transforms common everyday materials into unexpected works of art. Such as a smooth, shiny ball in the corner of the wall being made out of used gum. Another example is a giant star made out of nothing but toothpicks. When these objects stand alone you think hardly anything of them, but when transformed by Tom, they become beautiful works of art. His patience and vision must be outstanding, because these creations really go beyond what you’d expect of such materials. He reminds us how what seems impossible isn’t always the case and that even something small or boring can become something stunning.

Tom create all his art by hand and it tends to range from ordinary to monstrous. He without a doubt has a knack for making his art look seamless, causing us to forget what it once was prior to it’s transformation. His work appears flawless and provokes thought and plenty of logic. You can’t help, but think “Genius!” because of how well made it is and how it keeps you interested at all angles.

I really do admire Tom Friedman for the fact that he creates all his artwork with his own two hands. I also like that he is really clever in how he creates these amazing displays. A big part of the amazement is due to the material he uses, you would never expect these everyday items to become something of such quality. His work is visually and mentally astounding and for that I greatly respect his talents.
